COVID-19 has greatly impacted survivors and the agencies who support them. This past year and a half, our action line has remained open and we’ve added additional staff to meet the increased demand for support during lockdown and civil unrest.
As you can see from the graphics below, we’ve seen a 43.2% increase in interactions over the last three fiscal years. Of these interactions in our most recent year, 53.86% were individuals or professionals located in rural areas of Minnesota. While the largest group we served identified as victim/survivors, 30.53% of the time, we were connecting with other local advocates at agencies around the state.
We don’t just interact with folks through our Action Line- we’re also fielding emails, texting with folks on our text line, and planning trainings throughout the state to make sure professionals have the tools they need to help victim/survivors receive justice in the ever-changing legal landscape.
