Standpoint attorney, Siv Dobrovolny, will train on identifying and supporting victims of human trafficking in Minnesota through the narrative of a hypothetical survivor. Learn various ways to identify trafficking victims and how to work with other systems professionals to provide resources for victims. Siv has been working in the field of domestic and sexual violence since 2006 with an expertise in human trafficking. She has represented both sex and labor trafficked victims and trained extensively on the identification and representation of survivors
Siv will train systems professionals including attorneys, advocates, social workers, law enforcement, etc. from 11am-1pm. In the evening Siv will hold a training for community members on identifying labor trafficking and its community impacts. It is not uncommon that a community is unaware of issues like trafficking due to the low reporting numbers of this crime. Victims of domestic violence can also be victims of labor trafficking, but the trafficking often goes unidentified.
